FAQ
What is MANU Video Game Maker?
MANU Video Game Maker is a powerful tool that allows you to create custom games with zero lines of code. Users don't have to stick to traditional coding — any gameplay features, mechanics and cutscenes are made with a user-friendly animation panel. MANU was made to simplify the development of 3D games.
What is the main goal of MANU?
The main goal of MANU is removing all the obstacles between talent and audience. It means no coding and no studying. Anyone willing to make games can start creating right now — the basic toolkit includes all essential features to create gaming tech demos. Video game enthusiasts can use timeline and triggers to animate their logic, based on a player's movement and other interactions. It's quite easy and fun.
Do I have to pay for MANU software?
MANU Alpha is completely free! It is basically freeware with the first public release of MANU released on March 31 of 2020. The MANU Team is determined to frequently update the software with new features and solutions with easy accessibility. With constant improvements we hope to continue to bring the freeware version of MANU Alpha in the future.
Do you have any plans to include the support for mobile (iOS, Android) or console (Switch, Xbox, PlayStation) platforms?

Are there any games for MANU?
There is a showcase on MANU's official website demonstrating the best games created with MANU. You can find it here:
Will you add a first or third person view to MANU?
This is definitely planned. Future updates will add and incorporate additional tools that will allow creating a first or third person view easier. It is possible to add it now but it takes a lot of effort and skill. Upcoming updates will make this task easier and more straightforward.
Is it possible to create in-game menus with MANU?
You can create the desired MENU with 3D objects. For now, you can only use the menu with the keyboard (i.e. switch options, pick a choice, etc.). You can see the great example of in-game MENU in our 'Hard Landing' tech demo. MANU Team has some plans for adding additional specific tools for creating game UI, and it will support additional menus, windows, buttons and other possible input forms with ability to use the mouse to pick your choices.
Is it possible to add 3D support to MANU?
We have plans for supporting full 3D by default. For now, the camera can be moved in a full 360 degrees by all three dimensions, but our basic character can only move by X and Y axis. Even now MANU users can adjust their own custom character with a partial 3D support, but it can be a bit tricky.
How does the licensing go?
The process of licensing is still under development. For now, you can freely use MANU as a freeware app and create your tech demos and games without any legal restrictions, other than mentioned on our Code of Conduct and Terms of Use. Is there any support for multiple games inside one scene/demo?
For now MANU supports only one scene/game. Theoretically you can create a few mini-games within this solo scene. There are a few options, such as what kind of mini-games are those or what are the differences between them. Simply put, you can do it, but it won't be an easy task. We are making it easier so that in the future, you'll be able to create different scenes within one tech demo, and you'll be able to create different mini-games within each scene.
Will the character be able to 'talk' by touching NPC and other kinds of objects/models?
This will be possible by creating custom animations and menus for desired objects. This toolset will be added at a later date with the implementation of additional features, such as a fully programmable/animatable state machine. Later you will have more options and instruments to customize the interface of your own game made with MANU.
Where can I get assets and textures for my game made with MANU?
You are free to use any free assets and import any freeware animations you like. You can get them from a large variety of places — try Free3D, Cubebrush or Mixamo. MANU asset hub and store is planned in future updates and will be available as an integral part of MANU software.
